Forty Years on the Same Corner
It started back in August of 1984 — one little spot on Fredericksburg Road and a simple idea: do it fresh, do it right, do it the old-fashioned way. Word got around quick.
"We had green chili before green chili was popular."
By 1992 there were four Chester's across town, and a whole generation of regulars who'd grown up in these booths. The buns are still baked every mornin', the fries still cut twice a day, and the burgers still a juicy third-pound, cooked just for you. Some things just ain't worth changin'.
The first Chester's opens on Fredericksburg Road — fresh, never frozen, from day one.
San Antonio takes to it. A second location opens its doors.
Three strong — and green chili becomes the talk of the town.
Four Chester's, one standard: do it the old-fashioned way.
Same tray, same wood tables, for forty years.
